To the Miracles Coaching Staff -
We just finished our first season with the Miracles
organization. I wanted to write and give you some positive feedback on the
coaching style of the Miracles staff.
I’ve been involved with sports my whole life, either a=
s a
participant or as a parent. Of course, different “styles” apply=
for
different ages, but I strongly support the coaching approach I’ve see=
n at
Miracles for the High School players. I believe that athletes come to Mirac=
les
to help them develop to be successful at the high school, college, and perh=
aps
the professional level.
Many players I’ve seen over the years have been handled
with “kid gloves” in recreational and select league programs, a=
nd I
don’t believe that this treatment serves them well as they enter high
school and seek to enter a college program.
The coaching staff at Miracles has been knowledgeable, firm,
fair, and consistent in their approach with the players, and when
criticism/instruction are provided, there is always a point to be made or a=
lesson
to be taught. Sometimes these lessons are hard for the players (and perhaps=
the
parents) to hear, but these hard lessons are an important part of their
development as athletes and young men.
Sincerely,
Steve Funderburk
