Stephen F. Austin University signs Chance Eggleston from Tomball Texas

Chance Eggleston from Tomball Texas was a 3 year lettermen at Montgomery High School. L= ettered at 3B, 2B, C, and LF.

He achieved a career .422 district batting average. Chance helped contribute to 3 State playoff runs, (2005) State Championship Simi-Finalist, (2006) State Regional Simi-Finalist, and (2007) State Region= al Finalists. Chance finished his playoff career with a team leading .433 batt= ing average. He proved to be a tough out recording a .624 on base percenta= ge with only 17 strikeouts over 104 games. Defensively he only recorded 8 erro= rs over that same time frame playing at 4 different positions. He credits his = batting skills to Sean Ina out of Houston BBUSA. Coach Ina has worked with Chance s= ince he was 10 years old. His catching skills were honed by Coach Rocky Manuel of Bellaire. Defensively he credits Mike Harris and the astro turf floor of, T= he Miracles Baseball Academy.

Chance played his summer select ball for, (Columbia Angels of Premier Baseball) during the summer of 2006 he led his team in several offensive categories, most notably a .667 batting average with 8 HR over a = 45 game schedule. Lists his best individual performance at the National Showca= se in Joplin MO. Where he batted .600 over 7 games = with 4 HR, 1 3B, 6 2B, 15 RBI, 12 Runs, 8 SB… He is considered one of Texas top prospects.
